I bought two Quorum fans with the plan of having a wall switch and not having to deal with remotes. Unfortunately, I needed another wire in the wall to be able to operate both the fans and the lights... So I purchased these remotes, as the manufacturer specified. After about 6 months, I'm on my third 9v battery in each remote, and one of the fans no longer turns on-- the motor engages while I'm depressing the button, but doesn't stay on when I release the button. The light still works. I switched remotes (alternated dip switch codes between the two fans) and the fans both work fine with the other remote-- so this remote is the problem. Of course, now I'm well past the 30 day return window. Expensive product to function so poorly.Edit: After reaching Quorum customer service, I learned that the fan not staying on was because of an automatic "temperature" function (a slider set on "warm" or "cool/ manual") had accidentally been bumped off of "cool/manual" so the fan was not staying on because it was not interpreting the house to be warm enough to turn on. So now both remotes are turning the fans on and off, but I still find the feature annoying, and apparently is isn't unusual for the the batteries to only last 3-6 months, which seems outrageous to me.
